The Fiber Arts Studio was overflowing on Sunday, April 6, with twenty spinners, their wheels, and all their equipment. We were there for Deb Robson’s workshop on spinning wool from rare-breed sheep. Deb was assisted by her friend and our guild’s Vice President Sarah Jane Humke.
Deb brought samples of nine different rare-breed sheep’s wool for each participant. As we spun the wool, Deb told us about the sheep’s history and characteristics. Deb also demonstrated the use of tools including wool combs and a diz as well as sharing tips and tricks for spinning wool.
